Pride

The Canadian Labour Congress is committed to the equality of all people in Canada. The CLC’s equality work includes opposition to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

We have worked to challenge homophobia and transphobia in our workplaces, to negotiate collective agreements to protect and to provide equal access to all benefits for our lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) members and their families.

We organize conferences and workshops to advance issues of concern to our LGBT members and to develop strategies to move the equality struggle forward. We lobby governments and organize campaigns to win changes to human rights legislation, for equal benefits and for equal marriage. We continue to organize for trans human rights and to eliminate homophobia and transphobia.
